Fall is in the Air!

This week our wake-up alarm switched from exuberant morning bird song to the sound of yellow school buses rumbling down our country road. On our daily drive to the shop, we’re starting to see a few over-achieving sugar maples just beginning to turn orange. Fall is here in the Finger Lakes and though we’ll likely still see a few more weeks of Summer-like weather, there’s a distinct change in the air.

I'll be changing out the centerpiece on my farm table this week and I can't wait to use some of our mini “forever” pumpkins which just arrived. I'll add an assortment of natural dried elements - acorns, pine cones and bittersweet, along with faux florals and greens. These sweet mini-pumpkins are so amazingly realistic and the best part is they will last all the way through Thanksgiving without turning mushy or going bad.

I hope wherever you are today, you’re starting to see and feel the stirrings of the coming season.
