About the artist:
Pete Kumpon is a mechanical engineer by trade and a talented self-taught concrete artist. His process begins with the development of a 3D model in CAD. The model is then 3D printed, plastered, sanded and sealed. He makes a silicone rubber mold from the 3D printed object which is then used to cast his concrete pieces. A variety of concrete mixes are used to achieve different looks and finishes and a sealer is applied to protect the finish.
